ADAPTIVE TECHNIQUES SPECIALTY

As dive pros, we help others overcome challenges.  It is one of the most rewarding parts of our job.

We guide students as they face their fears and practice difficult skills.  When travelers visit a new place, we help them learn to dive in new environments.

Divemasters and Instructors lead divers of all levels.  We are the mentors that others look to for help and support.

One of the best things about diving is how accessible it is.  As an Adaptive Diving Techniques pro, you will be able to assist divers of varying abilities.  Be the supportive force that helps divers overcome obstacles and reach their goals.

You may be familiar with the healing benefits of being underwater firsthand.  Many of us are drawn to the sport because of the relaxation we experience underwater.  But diving is much more than a way to relieve stress.

BENEFITS OF SCUBA DIVING

According to a study from Johns Hopkins University, scuba diving has therapeutic benefits.  Divers with mental and physical impairments find relief from things like anxiety, depression, pain, injuries, and PTSD (see sources*).

The benefits of accessible scuba diving do not stop there.  Individuals of limited mobility can enjoy the sport.  People without sight are able to scuba dive.  Based on anecdotal evidence, diving even has a positive impact on those with Autism (see sources**).

Scuba diving is an incredible sport.  As leaders, it is necessary for dive pros to be equipped with proper training.  Learn how to help those with varying abilities.  Understand what it takes to scuba dive with a disability.  Helps someone find a hobby they love.
